This is the first recipe I made from Fast Cooking in a Slow Cooker Every Day of the Year: A Slow Cooker Vegetarian Cookbook. Although it bills itself as a vegetarian cookbook, in reality it’s a vegan cookbook.

The mouse ran back across the living room that evening, leading the sick-but-bored Nacho to rig up this contraption. I sat at the other end of the string, ready to pull it should the mouse come out for some cheese.

 

This object in our backyard really does look like a fur-covered duck, at least from the vantage point of the living room. I might investigate it tomorrow, if it’s still there.
